Kaiju Universe How to Level Up Kaiju Fast

XP routes from first levels to level 100 and plus-level grinding.

How to Level Up

Levels in Kaiju Universe are per kaiju. The monster you are playing tracks its own XP bar toward level 100, then continues into plus levels. This guide explains where XP comes from, how leveling ties to skill points every five levels, and how to avoid wasting hours on low-yield routes.

Pair this page with How to Get G-Cells — the same activities often pay both resources — and with Skill Points Builds so each breakpoint has a plan.

How leveling works

  • Earn XP by destroying buildings, fighting other kaiju, completing missions, and other rewarded combat or destruction actions.
  • XP needed per level generally rises as you climb; more expensive kaiju often feel slower to max.
  • At every five levels (5, 10, 15, …) you gain one skill point for Damage, Health, Regen, or Speed.
  • At level 100, you can keep earning plus levels. Plus-level XP demands typically hold near the cost of the final normal level for that kaiju.

Watch the XP meter (commonly referenced near the lower UI) so you know when a skill point is about to land. Allocate soon after — parked points help no one.

Best XP sources ranked for most players

1) Missions

Missions concentrate rewards. A destruction or combat task that matches your current map beats random roaming. Open the list, pick objectives you can finish in the next fifteen minutes, and commit. Mission play also feeds G-Cells, which matters when you are leveling toward an unlock gate described in Unlock Requirements.

2) Dense destruction routes

City cores on maps like Florida/NY or Tokyo can melt XP if your kit clears buildings quickly. Use Controls well: Shift flight, Q/E height changes, and a short 1–5 string that does not leave you standing still for punish. Route ideas live in Maps and Cities.

3) Player combat (situational)

Winning fights can dump XP, but losing fights dumps time. Take duels when healthy and when the opponent is a realistic trade — see PvP Combat and PvP Meta. Farming players while a mission only needs buildings is usually a trap.

Session plan: levels 1–25

Early levels move quickly. Goals:

  1. Learn your starter kit from Getting Started and Best Starter Kaiju.
  2. Finish missions before open-world wandering.
  3. Place the first skill points into survivability if you die often, or Damage if buildings feel spongy and you rarely lose health.
  4. Avoid buying a new kaiju mid-session unless the unlock is the reason you logged in — each monster levels separately.

Session plan: levels 25–100

Mid and late leveling is a marathon. Keep efficiency high:

  • Stack mission completion with the densest blocks on your chosen map.
  • Use the Farming Checklist so you do not forget claims or codes.
  • Revisit skill allocation every few breakpoints using the Skill Point Planner.
  • If your clear speed stalls, check whether Speed or Damage is the real bottleneck before blaming the map.

Expensive roster members — including post-DMCA originals such as Dredger, Reisserax, Strykarech, Kumora, Zaratan, and Aglacius — can demand more XP overall. Budget longer campaigns for them after you unlock via How to Unlock Kaiju.

Plus levels after 100

Plus levels are endgame flex and incremental power for players who main one kaiju. The XP chunk stays heavy. Treat plus grinding like a scheduled farm:

  • Same mission-first loop.
  • Same dense city preference.
  • Fewer ego duels unless you are specifically training PvP.

Plus levels do not replace the need for G-Cells when you want a wider roster. Keep currency habits from the G-Cells guide alive even while “only leveling.”

Leveling and unlock gates

Some kaiju require another monster at a minimum level. That means your leveling plan might be: main farmer → hit required level → buy next target → restart XP on the new body. Read Unlock Requirements before you dump fifty levels into a dead-end pick you do not enjoy.

Group unlock free kaiju still need leveling if you want them online-ready. Free is not finished.

Efficiency mistakes

  • Switching kaiju every ten minutes and never reaching skill point breakpoints.
  • Fighting endlessly in hot zones while missions need destruction.
  • Ignoring plus-level goals with no time box (endless grind without a stop condition).
  • Leaving skill points unspent for multiple sessions.
  • Farming the emptiest corner of Prometia because it “feels safe.”

Sibling guides

Leveling is measurable. Pick a target level for the night (for example “hit 40 and spend the skill point”), run missions on a dense map, and stop when the target is done. That beats vague “I will grind until I get bored” sessions every time.
